20 Things You Must Let Go to Be Happy

As you may already know, the most important factor that prevents us from realizing our dreams is simply ourselves. Although the goal of everyone in life is to attain as much happiness as possible, this goal is sometimes not easy to achieve as we face various constraints in our life. However, there are many ways to mitigate the impact of such “constraints” as anger, judgment, money, luck, excuses, resentments, your ex, etc.

Here are 20 things that we must IMPERATIVELY get rid of if we want to be happy:

Approval by others.

Be satisfied with the decisions you make. Think of everything you could do if you stop giving importance to the opinions of others about how you live. Commit yourself to all the actions that you think can improve your life.

Anger and resentment.

Anger consumes you from within. Learn to make peace with those who have wronged you. Keep in mind that the one who irritates you controls you. And frankly, by what right does he control you?

The negative image of your body.

There is only one person who can give an opinion on your physique, it is you. No one else has the right to judge whether your physiognomy is “correct”. Being good about yourself and being healthy are the only things that matter.

The idea or expectation of a perfect partner.

There is no ideal partner. The idealized image of the partner prevents us from moving forward in life. Find the right person for you – the one you can love fully, the one you feel comfortable with and accept.

The idea of a perfect life.

Same as the idea of perfect partner, there is no perfect life. Life is made up of the elements you choose. The choices you make will be reflected directly in the life you lead. So, it’s up to you to create your best world possible.

The idea that you will become rich.

Too many people live thinking they will one day be millionaires. While this is a realistic goal for some people, it is not something that can be achieved without hard work and dedication. Stop thinking that money is the only motivator. Find a career that excites you and dedicate yourself to it.

The idea that luck will knock on your door.

You must venture into the world and actively seek your fulfillment. Do not wait for things to happen on their own. Try to appreciate the life you lead and be grateful for the things you already have. Enhance every minute and every day. Think of living as if tomorrow did not exist and make the most of each situation.

No room for excuses.

You want to work but you do not have the time? Wake up earlier. Excuses are only mental rationalizations that allow you to feel better about yourself. You want results? Stop moaning and take action. Go!

Thinking about your ex.

If this person is your ex, there must be a reason for that. If you think about her or him constantly, try to learn from them. Do not dwell on past feelings as this will prevent you from being happy with someone else.

Obstinacy.

It may be hard to admit, but sometimes we make a mistake. The less stubborn you are, the more you will be open to learning new things.

Procrastination.

Stop thinking that you can do any task the next day. Live in the present moment and do your work just when it needs to be done. Maximize your time according to your abilities and complete each task as soon as you can. This will allow you to feel free from worry or stress and enjoy spending more time doing the things you love.

Your luggage.

We were all at one time or another hurt by someone we loved or thought we loved. Having negative feelings for our future relationships can be disastrous. There are no two people alike. It is therefore unfair to consider a future partner according to a norm defined by a relationship with an ex.

Negativity.

What you project into the universe comes back to you automatically. So, change the way you think right now. Stop seeing life as a half-empty glass, but rather see it as a half-full glass. Take the time to observe the myriad things you can be grateful for. For a positive spirit, anything is possible.

Judgments.

You have no idea what is really going on in the lives of others, so who are you to judge the way they act? If we spent more time dealing with our own actions and our own feelings, then our lives would certainly make more sense.

Jealousy.

Stop envying others and enjoy the things you own. All life is unique, and you surely have things to offer that others do not have. When we feel jealousy, all we do is filling our lives with negative feelings.

Insecurity.

Happy people tend to have an extremely high level of self-esteem. They accept what they are, radiate confidence, spread their pride and release positive vibes. There is no reason to feel insecure and if there are things that make you feel bad, try to change them. Only in this way will you be able to create the best version of yourself.

Depending on others for your happiness.

At the end of the day, the only person you can count on is finally you. Do not make the mistake of placing your happiness in the hands of others. A relationship will not help you live better and will not make you happier. You must reach happiness by yourself before you find someone else to share it.

The past.

Stop living in the past. You will not gain anything by focusing on the mistakes made previously. Rather, take lessons and progress.

The need for control.

It is sometimes necessary to let life flow the way it does. You cannot spend all the time looking for control over things that are out of your reach. Relax and let things evolve naturally. Embrace the unknown because that is what will surprise you the most. Let yourself be embarked on the unexpected and enjoy the excitement that will bring you.

Expectations.

Knowing how to manage your expectations is the key to happiness. If you lower your expectations, you will never be disappointed. Do not expect a certain result for a given situation. Experience life with an open mind without any preconceived ideas.
