But even though we want so much, it rarely happens that we realize our dreams. Many of us are waiting for opportunities to emerge instead of creating opportunities for the changes we long for. Here’s how to grab your life and make your dreams come true:

1. When you change your attitude, you also change your life experience

What do you want to do the most? How do you really want to live your life? These are big, important existential issues that we often choose to close our eyes to. It is easier to just let everyday life puddle on and tread around old routines than to take control of our lives. It is less strenuous to do what we are expected to do instead of exploring our innermost thoughts. But at the moment when you dare to be clearly honest with yourself and highlight your real needs and dreams, you can also change your life experience in a concrete way. In the end, you will no longer need to hold back your true potential.


2. Take one step at a time – and set achievable, short-term goals

There is nothing that makes us as happy and positive as when we have succeeded in something – and it does not matter if it is small or big things. The feeling of moving forward is also what gives us motivation to keep fighting. Set a big goal and take one step at a time by setting achievable, short-term goals. Celebrate every little new step and remember that it will take you one step closer to your end goal.

There are few things that limit us as much as undoing things we have invested in at one time. It is negative thoughts from the past that prevent us from moving into the future. 6. Be inspired by those who succeed

Look for role models that can inspire you and increase your motivation. Talk to those who are striving for the same thing as you do. Can you track each other or even cooperate? And avoid negative people. Did you know that there are actually people in your immediate circle who are envious of your driving force and would rather see you fail than support you?


7. Change what you can – and don’t waste time and energy on things you can’t change

This is one of the most important things to learn to reach your goals. Accept that there are things (especially people) that you can never change and choose instead to spend your time and energy on changing only those that you can really take control of.

This is about creating better self-discipline. Do more of what you think you cannot or dare to do, both physically and mentally. It has both a therapeutic effect and spurs you to push the boundaries.

Same thing here – spend more time convincing yourself that there is no box other than “thinking outside the box”. Break down your routines and break your everyday bad habits. It is a good start to get out of your comfort bubble and to get really creative.


10. Expand your views

Of course, this is easier said than done sometimes, especially for those who are shy and introverted. But make an effort to open the door to other people. New contacts create new opportunities and there are few things that inspire such as communicating with other people who have different values and see things from different perspectives. It is a universal truth that can change your life more than you can imagine.
